too much thought

Something I have come to realize about myself is that I often think way to hard about things that are simple. For example, we get a lot of small assignments in class to just play around with type or whatever to practice. I have a small assignment due this week for multimedia and all I have to do is create a page using what we learned about lists. It can have whatever content we want and the design can be whatever. This shouldn't take long. I know how to achieve things with css to style lists. But it has taken me forever just because I over analyze small things like this. What do I want this to be about? Should it be funny? Serious? What images should I use? Colors? etc, etc, etc. Holy crap, can't I just make a simple decision and stick to it?
I tend to change my mind a lot. In multimedia last semester I changed my web portfolio design 7 times in the few weeks we had to work on it. Is it because I want the best or am I just indecisive? I'd like to think that I wanted the best for my own personal site, but why can't I make a quick decision for this assignment that no one, with the exception of my professor and classmates, will see?
I need help with this. But where do I even start?

on a happier note, I found this design group and was blown away.
